The Club, host and lead the Manchester European Cadet Circuit Event and enter other national and international competitions.  The Club enjoys associations with important bodies such as European Fencing Co-federation, Sport England and the British Fencing Association, as well as links with local authorities.

ManCadet competition date:      15th October 2016

The Manchester Cadet tournament is a premier foil competition and flagship event for under-17 fencers in the UK. Founded by Salle Kiss, it has been running annually since 2004 and for the last five years has been an official European cadet selection tournament.

It is professionally-staged and attracts 350 elite young fencers from all over the UK and Europe. It appeals to domestic talent as an accessible point-awarding, ranking competition based in this country but part of the European circuit.

Our challenge for 2016-17 is to take the tournament to the next level and to ensure that the UK still has a prestigious place in the thriving European fencing scene and the increasing interest in the United States.

“Our vision is to run an event that’s live-streamed into the homes of competitors’ families, friends and schools, to the wider fencing community, and to people and organisations attracted by our online promotions.”

To really make a difference, us; Natalia and Robert need more businesses to get involved and be part of what she calls a Thinking Sport.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for a company to create a legacy and associate its name with a wonderful sport and a tournament that embodies talent, clear ambition, a striving for excellence, fitness as a way of life, and a healthy desire to succeed. It’s a chance to be part of something special,”

The event is staged at the Bolton Arena, a 21st century sports centre just 40 minutes from Manchester Airport (one of the venues purposely built for the Commonwealth Games in 2002). The competition is held within the main arena with equipment provided by Allstar UK.

This is an opportunity to associate your name or brand with a growing sport and a tournament that embodies talent, clear ambition, a striving for excellence, fitness as a way of life and a healthy desire to succeed. This is your chance to get involved and make a difference.

At a less tangible but more emotional level, sponsors will be helping to keep alive the Olympic podium dreams of the young fencing hopefuls.
